This policy helps us keep MamaSign fast, reliable, and fair for every user. It outlines what we consider normal use and the steps we take to protect the platform.

Section 01

What This Policy Covers

This Fair Usage Policy applies to all MamaSign services, including e-signatures, document management, invoice generation, bulk sending, custom domains, and API access (Coming Soon).

It supplements our Terms of Service and is designed to prevent abuse that could degrade the experience for other users. The vast majority of users will never be affected by this policy — it exists to protect the platform from extreme or automated misuse.

Section 02

Normal and Acceptable Usage

Normal usage includes all typical business activities such as:

  • Creating, sending, and signing documents for legitimate business purposes
  • Generating invoices and sending them to real clients or customers
  • Using bulk send to distribute documents to genuine recipients
  • Setting up custom domains and branding for your business
  • Collaborating with team members on shared documents

If you are using MamaSign the way it was intended — to run your business, manage documents, and communicate with real people — you are well within fair usage.

Section 03

File Uploads and Storage

MamaSign provides generous storage for your documents, signatures, and attachments. To keep the platform fast and reliable for everyone:

  • Individual file uploads are limited to 50 MB per file
  • Uploaded documents should be business-related (contracts, agreements, invoices, etc.)
  • Do not use MamaSign as a general-purpose file storage or backup service
  • Excessively large document libraries that impact platform performance may be reviewed

We do not impose a hard cap on total storage for paid users, but we reserve the right to contact you if usage significantly exceeds what is typical for your plan.

Section 04

API / Automation Usage

API access (Coming Soon) will be available on eligible plans. When using the API, please follow these guidelines:

  • Rate limit: 100 requests per minute per API key
  • Batch operations should be spaced reasonably — avoid sending thousands of requests in a burst
  • API usage should reflect legitimate business workflows, not stress testing or scraping
  • Automated signing workflows are welcome, but each signature must represent a genuine transaction

If you need higher rate limits for a specific use case, reach out to us — we are happy to accommodate legitimate high-volume needs.

Section 05

Team and Collaboration Usage

Team features are designed for real organizations with real team members:

  • Each team member should be a real person who actively uses the platform
  • Do not create multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits
  • Team seats should not be shared between multiple individuals
  • Inviting external collaborators for specific documents is perfectly fine

Prohibited or Abusive Usage

The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension:

  • Using MamaSign to send spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited bulk communications
  • Uploading illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform
  • Creating fake or fraudulent documents or signatures
  • Reselling or redistributing MamaSign access without authorization
  • Using automated bots to create accounts or generate artificial usage
  • Deliberately attempting to overload or disrupt the service
  • Circumventing security measures, rate limits, or access controls

We take abuse seriously. If we detect prohibited activity, we will take action to protect our users and platform — which may include account suspension without prior notice in severe cases.

Section 07

What Happens If Fair Use Is Exceeded

We believe in communication first. If your usage exceeds what we consider fair, here's what happens:

  • We will contact you via email to discuss your usage pattern
  • You will be given a reasonable timeframe to adjust your usage
  • We may suggest a plan upgrade or custom arrangement that fits your needs
  • Temporary rate limiting may be applied to protect other users during the review
  • Account suspension is a last resort and only used for clear policy violations

Our goal is never to punish legitimate users. If your business genuinely needs more resources, we want to help you find the right solution.

Infrastructure and Service Protection

To maintain platform reliability and performance for all users, we employ several protective measures:

  • Automated rate limiting to prevent accidental or intentional overload
  • Traffic monitoring to detect unusual patterns that may indicate abuse
  • Scheduled maintenance windows with advance notification
  • Geographic redundancy to ensure uptime even during regional outages

These measures run in the background and should never affect normal usage. If you experience any unexpected limitations, please contact our support team.

Policy Updates

We may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, user feedback, or legal requirements.

When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of MamaSign after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
